How We Grade Condition

Memory Merchant Condition Guide

Every item receives an honest grade so you know exactly what to expect.

Grade N — New / Like New

Unused or appears unused. No visible wear, damage, or repairs. Original packaging may be present.

Grade A — Excellent

Very light wear consistent with careful use or display. No chips, cracks, or repairs. May show minor signs of age (light patina on metals, faint surface marks).

Grade B — Good

Shows honest signs of use or age but remains attractive and functional. May have minor imperfections: light scratches, small chips to non-visible areas, gentle wear to gilding or paint. All noted in listing.

Grade C — Fair

Noticeable wear, damage, or repairs that affect appearance but item remains displayable or usable. Priced accordingly. All issues fully described and photographed.

Grade D — As-Is / Project

Significant damage, missing parts, or heavy wear. Sold for parts, repair, or creative reuse. Priced to reflect condition. No returns on Grade D items.
